General Introduction:
This section outlines the
Wu-Chi School's main courses; and it gives a
brief insight as to how our courses are used to
benefit a wide range of people within a
community.
It also presents the criteria and some of the
material that our 'Advanced Teacher Training
Programs' are founded upon, to give the reader a
glimpse of the type of people we selected to
become leading Instructors in the Wu-Chi School
of Arts.

A Brief Overview of our Course Portfolio:
Leading Programs
Wu-Chi's
Leading Programs are for children 6 - 11yrs
and youth 12 - 17yrs. They consists of two
programs:
a)
Wu-Chi Kids Health and Self-Discipline (Wu-Chi Gow);
b)
Youth Attitude and Personal Development (Wu-Chi
Yoi)
These Child Education and Youth Development
programs are specifically designed to pre-empt
the need for rehabilitation schemes - by
providing character development programs for
youth, before and during the years when they are
at risk of being led astray.
Main Programs
Wu-Chi has two Main Programs:
a) Career Motivation Programs (Wu-Chi Shen)
b)
Life Reform Programs (Wu-Chi Chuan)
These programs are designed to attract the
aimless and troubled members of society and give
them an opportunity to develop responsibility
and maturity, via an activity that they wish to
be identified with. Furthermore, these two
programs help break the cycle of anti-social
behaviour and street violence by producing
students who will act as a positive influence
amongst their peers in the community.
Specialised Programs
These five Specialised Programs are examples of
the programs we form after identifying the needs
of specific sectors within the community:
a)
Family Martial Art Activity Classes (Wu-Chi
Yee)
b)
Wu-Chi Tai Chi Health and Fitness (Wu-Chi Hsing)
c)
Women's Self-Defence Classes (Wu-Chi
Da-Tao)
d)
Community or Private Groups (Wu-Chi Seng)
e)
Natural Therapies (Wu-Chi Chen Tao)
All our Specialised Programs have, within all their
course content, material which interests
individuals in pursuing physical health, mental
well-being and character development - to the
point where they no longer need our services.
Advanced Program
Wu-Chi only has two advanced programs:
a)
Teacher Training (Wu-Chi Tao)
b) Private School (Shao-Men Sarn)
Wu-Chi Tao is the program that we have designed to
train our future teachers in the art of creating
object-lessons, that confront students with
puzzles which exercise their ability to make
sound decisions based upon ethics.
Shao-Men Sarn is a private school that solely
extists to train the top of the top students to
become Si-Fu's.
NB. It is
extremely difficult to portray on a webpage or
in a document the all-encompassing subject of
how we train our teachers - let alone how we
train our Si-Fu's. However, on the these pages we
have endevoured to give you a glimpse of the type of
people who are selected to become our leading instructors.
Grading Program (up to 1st degree Blackbelt)
Examination Requirements (Wu-Chi Mu)
Out of all the programs we have, we have chosen to present an overview
the Wu-Chi Chuan
Examination Requirements as a sample Grading
Program, as it reveals the depth and breadth of
the concepts the School is built upon. In
essence, these concepts are in all of our
courses, however, they are the backbone of the
classes we run for troublesome youth who lack
moral stability or self-discipline.

An initial Pointer
We use our martial art to bring identity to
personal development. As soon as possible we
take our students to the place where they can
stand, independent of the school, having the
strength and confidence to fulfill their highest
ideals and aspirations.
"When you point out an object of great
importance to a friend, your finger has
significance only until the object of interest
is bought into their view and they have gained
their own appreciation of its value."
Accordingly, we use our martial art programs to
draw attention to character development. As soon
as the character development is brought into
view and the students gain their own
appreciation of its value, the martial art loses
all significance.
Hence, we see our school as being only a
stepping stone in the lives of those that we
interest in higher things. |
