The 4th reason why it is worth supporting
Wu-Chi in its drive to solve the problem
of wayward male youth . . .

Because
Wu-Chi’s expansion program will be a financially independent, self-funding, community aid operation.
Although Wu-Chi is a totally non-profit organisation, we firmly believe in running our community aid operation as a financially successful business.
This is to ensure that our operations are not totally reliant on external funding, thus averting the circumstances that cause too many charitable organisations to become as much of a drain on society as are the people they set out to help.

Our plan is to set up the Wu-Chi School of Arts with a comprehensive financial portfolio — encompassing diverse and sustainable commercial interests to ensure that we stay in the business of helping people.

Contrary to popular belief, even kids from the poorest side of town find money to spend on what they really want, whether it be for video games, drugs, or streetwear, etc. When passion and appetite rule, youth become very resourceful and as we have proven over the years it is a very simple (and highly beneficial4) matter to get every student to find a way to earn their class fees.

Also, because martial art is an established industry (in the USA in 1995 it was second only to computer networking in its growth rate, with a $1.5 billion annual turnover - 'Forbes, Oct 1995') we will be able to capitalise from owning associated industries which produce: DVDs, videos, books, booklets, magazines, posters, charts, clothing, club memorabilia, and martial art paraphernalia that would be attractive not only to Wu-Chi students, but to young men in general.

Integris Wu-Chi will also look to own other business enterprises and investments that will be run to gain additional finance for its operations.

All our students are encouraged to earn their own money to pay their class fees. Even the youngest are taught not to depend on their parent(s) to pay their way. This is part of our "Own Your Own Life" program, which is designed to put youth on a path that will lead them to become financially self-reliant throughout their adult life - helping to avert the need for future welfare support schemes and handouts.
